im with you on the tuning clueless ness

i have heard a lot about both being good. if you want jugglo has a review in his sig just click the link and it tells ya more bout the sniper...

i think that i will be purchasing the livewire just becuase it is an in car tuner and can keep track of things for me and also acts as gauges and can test horse power numbers and quarter mile numbers relativley easy

both are good tuners.

I suggest that you fine a dyno shop and see what software they use before you buy either of the 2

Yeah... Find the dyno tuner and find out what they use -

Most of the Mustang Dyno Tuners I've talked to use SCT

The only home tuner that currently allows you to write your own tunes is sniper dude. read my review in my sig. hope it helps make a good decision. But SCT is also very good in fact Sniper helped them get there feet on the ground and become what they did :wink

livewire because it is capable of tracking a/f ratios, horsepower, torque, 1/4 mile time, 0-60 times, and has a built in shift light which is good for a manual or a auto w/ shift kit.

or

xcal2 if you dont want all that extra interactivity. ie: you just wanna tune and nothing else

you can make your own custom tunes... for both... the thing is for the livewire you need to make your own tunes from sctracth using their programs... fortunatley the livewire does come with the program

Im going to have to say your wrong and/or misinformed no where on there promo site to i see the ability for you to write and make ur own tunes. but they do however mention u have to GO TO AN SCT DEALER for custom tunes.

also i might add it WILL NOT do a/f ratio unless you have a wide band o2 sensor it even states you need a 3rd party a/f meter in order for the live wire to work. and HP TQ and 1/4 are all estimations and are hardly accurate at all because of to many variables. even they state it like wheel spin road conditions and such.

You can make your own tunes with SCT but this stuff is not to be played with. Changing spark, a/f ratio, etc. and having 0 clue what your doing is a great way to end up with chunks of parts behind your car -

well you have limited control with sct tunes like shift pressure a/f and spark. but you cant do most of the features Sniper offers. so its not really making u own tune its modifying one that u had to purchase from SCT.
