+1 for the ball joints. Mine did the exact same thing and we had to replace the front driver side on my 01 sixxer and BOTH on my 90 LX in the same month. If you you have a pin-type head for a grease gun you can puncture the rubber bushing for the ball joint and shoot some grease in there to see if it clears up. I wouldn't recommend not changing it if indeed that is the problem but it'll alleviate the squeak for a month or two.
=/ Keep in mind when you get new ones they're the type you need to keep greased up. Just do it when you do an oil change to stay in the habit. |
