2000 Stang question


Hey guys I have an issue with the year of my car I was going to buy some parts (pulleys etc..) and they aske me if my car was 99-00 or 00-04 they told me that the 00' r 2 an early version and the older one how that?

I thought that was with 01's but whatever.

the reason they ask that is because the water pump pulley is different depending on when your car was made in the year.

your door panel should tell you

it should be 99-00, and 01-04. if it's 99-00 and 00-04, then it should be 99-04 ._. maybe it just fits either model? tehe.

the thing is the balancer is different they switched it half way through as well as something else... can't remember what i wanna say something like they fuel system or vacuum system but i don't know

There are 2 versions oh LT headers, crank pulleys, and I believe CAI's

half way through 2000 they changed the Crank Pulley so that the harmonic balancer was no longer part of the Pulley. that is why they ask to see if you need a pulley with the balancer included or not.

yes because half way through 2000 they changed it. so if you have a 2000 Stang you need to check the manufacturing date to determine if u need the one with the balancer or with out.

they do, just the 99- mid 00 they had it on the crank pulley. mid00-04 its a separate piece thats removable from the stock pulley and can be fastened onto the after market i beleive.

Oh...then why does asp sell two different versions of the pulley/ballancer combo for early and late '00

99 mid 00 were externally balanced midd 00-04 were internally balanced thats why they have the different pulleys. see the weight on the 99-00 pulley?
