What type of Muffler should i get?

Hi i was looking up a couple of mufflers for my 2002 mustang and i found that the borla stingers sound really nice on a v8 engine but unfortunately i have a v6. do you think borla stingers would sound good on a v6? what are your opinions on what muffler i should purchase? thanks!

You should get whatever kind of muffler gives you the sound you're looking for.

What sounds good on a V8 will almost certainly not sound good with the sixxer. They just make different kinds of sounds.

I recommend searching on youtube for '02 V6 Mustang exhaust, and see what you like the sound of.

Check out our exhaust clip sticky man...if you can't find a sound clip you like in there then I don't know what to say.

Imo i would keep saving and do it right the first time...I doubt you'll be happy with a single the first time you pull up to a dualed v6

well i mean i'm not a really big car guy. i would just like my car to have a nice rumble and sound when accelerating and what not. I mean if a single would be similar to that tone i'd be happy with it. how much of a difference does it make from a single to a dual?

Night and day difference....on my current mustang its the first thing that i did...took tue single the previous owner had on it and went duals....lol all my stangs get the dual treatment. If you arent a car guy now you will be soon enough...that mod bug bites hard....so take my advice and dual it now. Up to you though

I'm curious how a properly set up single would sound.

Everyone claims duals are better, but I can't find a nicely done single (i.e. 2.5" pipe, some decent muffler, good open Y-pipe).

If I didn't have 4 cars already I'd pick up a cheap sixxer SN95 just to prove that you don't have to go duals for it to sound good.

Its just personal preference man...i like the way duals sound over single setups but you may be different...if mark was on here right now he would say the same...he had an aftermarket single but went dual.

hey thats my car! haha. yeah definatly save for a dual setup dude. nothing beats it. a friend of mine has a single flow 40 and its alright... but nothing compared to a true dual setup. you can go h x whatever you like, thats up to you. but a full dual exhaust catback is worth the money. youlle end up spending about 150-200 on just one muffler + install (at least where i live) and you could save that up for a super nice system.

i dont know if you like or anyone likes slp systems, but from the same dismantler i got my borla system from they have an slp system with an x pipe for around 120 bucks probably.
