Info about 4.2L

I have read in previous post that the 4.2L v6 is just a better engine compared to the 3.8L. Is their a sticky for this somewhere? If not does anyone have the specs on why is it a better engine and is it necessary to forge the internals if I want turbo etc. etc. I know someone knows what they are talking about concerning engines out there. I heard of 3.8L engines not durable enough for turbo and etc. so let me know whats up.

sorry i didn't read all your post... the thing with the forced induction is our engines can only take so much... you might be able to get about 7 psi out of it safley for a while... now if you get that new engine you can run6-8 psi for about 15k miles after that lookin into a new bottom end would be best

most of the difference in the engines comes from the say that they are built... the 4.2 has better components over stock and with fully ported intakes and great tunning and exhaust you could see 250 horse power naturally aspirated if not more...

OneManzu,
Good lookin out with the info. They should make all of the specs of a 4.2L V6 into a sticky. I didnt understand why on tmaturbo.com their are alot of stock V6's with turbo on them but later some will buy a 4.2L later on. Ford truly makes their money on aftermarket parts dont they?

if u order an engine from precision (I find em the best for the price) tell them u want to run certain amount of psi and they will forged the engine to handle the psi. a stock motor can handle 7 psi without exploding or w/e

yea the stock motor is pretty stout... well for a big piece of metal that ford threw together... most of those stangs on tma aren't runnin to much over 250-300 horses thats why they are still runnin now the thing is they are puttin a bit of stress on those engines and if they ever decide to change anything they will wear out faster... well faster then there current rate... which is faster then a stock engine

np on the 4.2 thing

and for some reason ken w/ precession is like anti-email... so ima call him tomorrow and see what the deali-o is

This website has a lot of information on what is available to build a 4.2L or 4.3L engine

http://www.supersixmotorsports.com

I'm not sure what precision is putting in for bottom end components to build the engine for about $2K.

Seems like if you want extra power you may need stronger bottom end parts to keep it reliable.

its still a 232 block. the displacement changes and technically it is a 272. all you really need to do is put a crank from a 4.2 in it and it makes it a 272. But you should also upgrade all the internals.

And I can Generally answer questions when it comes to precision engines. I've talked to ken extensively and went over almost every single option he has on his motor.
