Sct tuner?
Is it worth it. Its a pretty penny. But the mods I have now are cai, true duals and yep that's all. Would I see a difference in power and also I have a
standard.

you will notice a slight difference, but since your a manual then it won't be as big, it really firms and quickens the shifts on auto's. Also you will get a couple MPG's better

Yea, the canned tune will allow you to run 91 octane fuel, and it will advance your timing and stuff for some extra gains.
A custom tune tailored to your car would really open it up. Look around, they can be found for around $150-$200 all over. Just make sure it's unlocked before you buy it.

You'll need the tuner for gears (the speedo recalibrators are junk) and do a tlok at the same time. Overall a tuner is a great tool if you plan on doing some fairly extensive work to your car but I would personally wait until you're ready to do gears to buy the tuner. With nothing but a CAI and exhaust, a tuner isn't really going to do anything. A lot of people swear you get a lot of power with a 91 or 93 octane tune but my butt dyno didn't hardly feel a difference between the fuels/timing changes.

IMO I hear nothing but horror stories when you start tweaking your ECU. Car stalls, backfires, won't start, running to rich or lean, throwing codes etc on and on. But maybe that is just me.

Well I was planning on adding a t-lok with the gears. Thus getting more power to the rear equaly. BTW does the haynes manual cover swapping out gears?

If the person tuning your car knows what they're doing it'll be fine. Problem is too many people have no clue and start playing with a/f ratios, etc. and screw things up.
Haynes manual covers how to open the rear end, replace fluid, has a cpl pics but I'd get a full write up on how to install gears if you plan to do it yourself. It's a tricky install as you have to set the back lash properly. If you don't know what you're doing you'll end up with nasty gear whine or worse.

this happens when inexperienced people start playing with settings that they dont understand. if you get a professionally written tune then everything should go smooth. my tuner and am/bama tunes worked like a charm

go find a set of gears on americanmuscle.com and there should be a link to a detailed write-up.

Well shit, there used to be a write-up on there. Haynes or Chiltons manuals are great for references but they don't get as detailed as I'd like

Thanks bro, Also if I were to get the t-lok and gears where should I go to get them installed. I would like to prefer a known name shop not a chop shop I live in El paso and all these places are sketchy. I'm supposed to be station in Ft Bragg NC. Any places there?

I recommend doing a little searching on Google for shops in your area. I believe if you use the "Maps" tab then you can see reviews of the shops. Some shops specify what they work on and some don't, but don't be afraid to call up some shops to see if they'll do the work and what they'll charge. It cost me $350 to have my tlok and gears installed. I also provided the bearing kit and the shop supplied all the fluids. And it was a transmission shop so I had them do my clutch as well (another $290).
