catalytic converters

Realistically, would it be a good idea to cut all 4 cats of my exhaust and scrap them? I have been told by one of my friends that especially cuz i have 2 main cats and 2 pre cats, especially stock, i could walk out of a scrap yard with about 600 bucks? Im curious and obviously going to call a scrap yard and get a estimate before i do this but im thinking if this is true, i can redo my whole exhaust the way i want to (headers, mufflers, and all) and still make out with a little extra cash. What do you guys think?

how much do you think i can get?

maybe $100-150...and that's if the scrap yard is generous..you have to realize you can buy universal magnaflow cats for around $70 new...besides depending on your mileage they might now even want them for anything but scrap...in fact that's probly what will happen

Just get ride of the cats, take them to a scrap yard and either go catless or run 2 magnaflow highflows cats and call it a day.

i got 2 2.5" magnaflow highflow cats for $100.

^probably the same ones i had, price sounds about right, i got rid of mine a few months ago, Love the change.

im aware of that and thats what i plan on doing. i just figured because they were stock theyd have a little more platinum or something in them.

This was explained in your other thread...your factory exhaust does not have o2 hunger on the cats....the previous owner just put on the wrong cats on your car. Which might explain your issue.
