I would have if I could. I got the "EGR insufficient flow" code or something like that. After pulling the EGR off and noticing it wasn't clogged at all someone told it me it was the DPFE sensor which fixed it right up.

Cleaned up the engine bay and not having the hard line makes it so much easier to get to the plugs, as well as when my passenger side header crapped out from the condenser drip

Any luck/updates, OP?
Your SCT tuner will definitely read your DTCs without a problem. If you have any questions/concerns reading the codes, please feel free to contact our tuning specialists. They'd be happy to help you read and diagnose the DTCs. Please feel free to PM me directly with any questions you might have in the future!

will do chris
and thank you all, i haven't done it because I have been overwehlm at work with a lot of work to do. this saturday i will plug the tuner in and see what happens. the car has been running normal and better with the 87 performance tune from bama. this SES light came on after 90 miles driving after i had my 85,000 mile service done at ford. the ford service folks that did my car at the time said that everything is running good before the light ever appeared, unless they missed something. |

checked it with the sct tuner and I only got a P0430 code. dont have time to research it but need your guys expert advice:
1. Is it life threatening on my car 2. does it need to be fixed ASAP or ignore until i have sufficent fund to replace it 3. i have the Pypes true dual exhaust x-pipe with street pro muffler and catalyic converter high flow kit from AM. could this be the culprit? 4. the car still run fine any effects down the road |

you have a bad cat...
"Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)" Bank 2 is driver side, and the downstream o2 sensor is detecting an uneven flow...

so to under stand correctly. the cataylic converter has crap out and needs to be fixed or replaced. jeez I sure hate Pypes as the high flow I have is pypes which it camed with the pypes true dual exhaust.
do you think the O2 sensor is the culprit here and maybe i need to buy the ntk sensor. I recall that the stock sensor was not long enough to connect to the converter so the installer gave me some generic brand to do the trick? is this some sort of urgent matter that needs fixing? |

oh yea that can definitely be it. NEVER use anything other than Motorcraft o2 sensors. Bosch and other brands are truly junk and don't give correct readings.
Put the stock ones back in and get some wire extenders and see if that fixes the problem. If it's a high flow cat I doubt it's gone out, probably the sensor behind the cat.

I would order from TousleyFordParts.com. Just ordered a replacement o2 sensor for mine and it was $39 plus shipping. Half the price of O'Reilly's and the dealership

I did a dtc with my sct tuner and the p0430 is still there, however, I turn the car on afterwards and the SES light was off. I will call BAMA/AM sometime this week to verifly. I have a copy of the invoice with my tune information and everything is accurate from what I stated when I filled out the questionaire after the purchase order

Get w/ Chris the rep and see what they can do, might try a different tune just to double check that before you spend money. But chances are its a O2 problem. Especially since they gave you cheap ones

And nothing wrong with Bosch HOS's, seeing as I highly doubt Ford makes their own HOS's. The vast majority of sensors/non-unique components are just OEM re-branded. I can think of at least 4 places that re-brand the Delco 39MT starter for instance, and it's the exact same part no matter where you buy it.

how are you certain that it is a bad cats. as for the word "CATS". do you mean the Catheylic converter or is it the muffler.
AMChrisYoung, would it be okay if I shoot you my SCT/Bama Order # to you to see if one of your represenatative could verifly if my tunes are in accordance to the modded spec of what I mention on the online form? The SES light is off now when I start the car, but the P0430 shows on the tuner. |
