Really considering changing suspension again

As some of you know, I cut my springs by 2 coils awhile back. The stance is amazing, but the ride quality has gone to pure shit. I LOVE the look... but I honestly don't enjoy driving the car due to the roughness.

I have also noticed some degrading in the overall steering and suspension quality on the front. It pulls to the left HARD. An alignment only last about 1,000 miles due to how rough it is.

Granted, I am sure a Bumpsteer and Ball joint kit would improve matters. However I am really just tired of every bump being crazy hard.

What would you all reccomend? I LOVE the look... which springs would you suggest to get something close to my current stance? I had H&R Springs but wanted something a bit lower. OR, if any of you had this issue and fixed it, how?

For a point of refrence, this is my current stance:

Looks amazing, but its so damn rough... so, help a guy out

H&R super sports or eibach sportlines are going to be your best bet I think.

I had the H&R... I still have H&R on the rear. The Sportlines seems to have more of a drop than the H&R. Anyone have pro/cons of them? I am looking for something to get me close to my current stance, but with more quality of ride. In other words, I don't want to worry about my suspension falling out from under me with each bad bump, Lol.

the only way you're going to be happy with the ride and to get that stance is going with a coil over kit....

i looked at those when i was at the UPR tent at NMRA this year...they look solid, but i've heard both good and bad things on them...but then again that's true for everything...

H&R are going to give you a pretty rough ride too. The lower you go, the rougher it gets.

Personally I think you need to look into coilovers. And with it that low I'm sure the rear upper control arm bushings are trash. I would look into sphericals for that.

This should give you a low, smoother ride that should last a long time.

You might also want to look into an adjustable rear bumpstop, or removing it completely.

And if you don't have C&C plates, get the. Strength for the coil overs and it can be aligned better.

I would go either Sportlines or Coilovers. Coilovers are going to feel a lot better as they are matched to the struts they come with.

Bumpsteer won't help your situation. You need to ditch the shitty cut springs and put something quality on there. Balljoints would be a good idea for the steering geometry. Do you have have camber bolts?

I do have camber bolts installed.

My budget is not very high since I am only going to school full time atm and living off the parents (sucks... but nessecary).

So, does anyone know if the Coliovers from UPR would be a good idea with my Tokico shocks? I have no idea really on how Coilovers work. What makes them different from springs? How hard at they to install/adjust? What kind of drop would be safe with the UPR ones?

Right now it seems like either the Sportlines or UPR Coilovers.

I know that the Steeda X2 Balljoints also lower the car a bit as well if you forgo the spacers.

You could use our front coil-over kit on your Tokico's up front with some softer springs and our Sport Spring on the back with the weight jacker LCA's. This would give you a much better ride than the cut coils and you can adjust the ride height to suit your liking.

Let me know if I can help you set this up.

With it that lower you need to look into stuff binding. And if you go coilovers you NEED C&C plates to keep the strut towers from bubbling up on you. You could also get away with making a peice of metal that goes in there for support. There is a right up somewhere on modded about it. But for the effort, you could just do CC plates and have more adjustability in the end.

Coilovers have the spring rapped around the shock/strut and make everything cleaner, adjustable, and more accurate ride.

Lol... whats your point? I really hate comments like this. Just because Mustangs are not this low stock means I should deal with it and not make it better?

No offense, but unless your contributing to the tech, move along and be polite.

I will be in touch!

So, for coil overs I am looking at a more adjustable ride. I would need CC plates to make them correct however... Would I be able to install them myself, or would this be a shop thing? I know the CC plates would most likely be a shop thing.

i had tokico blues with a Qa1 coild over kit on the front of my car with 14 inch 175 pund springs and it rode shity also

the best ride i have gotten out of my car is 90 gt struts with cutt stock v6 springs

Rzncain has rode in my car, he will tell ya it dont ride bad. im guessing you bottoming out your front struts. if i where you i would throw some fox front struts in it, they are an inch to an inch and half shorter.

That stance looks like sex.
I'm running on cut springs and it really isn't much stiffer but I also didn't slam my car.
my friend has upr coilovers and the ride is pretty nice. It is pretty low too.

define shitty.... Like, every bump made the car jolt like crazy and physical go up and down shitty OR every bump made the car jolt shitty?

Right now, I hit a bad bump and the car bounces up and back down then stops... I hate that. Under normal circumstances I would say the shocks are bad, but I know its the spring distance.

I going to look into the UPR coilover kit since its $200 and the Steeda kit.

Another question: With a Coil Over kit, are the springs completely gone, and its just supported by the strut/shock assembly with the spring over it?

with the coil overs on my car the ride was stiff, but that can be adressed by changing the spings, but another thing that you run into is coil over noise, thats why i changed back to stock set up

yes no more coil springs with coil overs

What kind of noise? By changing the springs, I assume you mean the springs around the strut/shock? It seems they are interchangable. I noticed Steeda sells the Coilover parts, but no springs.
