antenna block off plate

hi. im new here from san diego.
just last week i bought my mustang. 02 blk convertible.

slowly but surly im going to be adding more and more to it but for now i had a flowmaster 40 series installed.
and i know this isnt the right place for introduction so the real question is...

** were can i get an antenna block off plate. ive looked in forums and ebay but no luck. ebay doesnt have any and the links on forums are dead. if anyone can point me in the right direction id appreciate it. that antenna is really distracting!!!!! **

dunno where to get the plate at...have you thought about just cutting about 30"s off the factory one...it's what most of us do. looks great too...

welcome to the forum btw...and i give it a month before you're asking about a dual exhaust setup lol

looking at that pic i'd rather have my antenna there then that plate lol...i figured the plate was going to be a weld in flush piece...but that is just ugly

agreed! I don't mind the antennas at all, as long as they are not stock height tall.

actually. im pretty satisfied with the single flowmaster. i had a 94 honda civic before the mustang and you will not belive how much abuse from police you get with a little muffler, so im quite traumatized. single flowmaster will do for now

here's a "snip" of the mustang.

to me that looks just like the stock antenna base without an antenna

honestly that what it looks like to me too. i just thought there would be a part i can buy that looks like that. i know for hondas they make one that give you an oem look.
but im considering cutting it i little tho, you think cutting it all the way down like that will give me bad reception?

Not everyone gets shit from the police for their exhaust. Ricers get shit from police because those people are annoying as fuck with their fart cans screaming. I had an h pipe and 2 flowmaster 40s on my old V6. It was pretty damn loud. I ran than bitch up to 6k in 1st and 2nd one night before I noticed a cop was watching me. He just nodded and took off after someone that was speeding (I was doing 10 over at that point). From my experience, muscle/pony cars get a lot less shit from police than imports (especially Honda Civics) do.

I have longtubes, no cats, and flow 40s. My exhaust screams.
Along with HID heads and fogs, sequential tails, and blacked out windows.
Never even get a single glance from teh cops.

so why don't you just cut the antenna? takes all of 5 minutes...

I'm gonna try that tomorrow.
like I said earlier. I got the mustang on Sunday evening and have not had a chance to even look and appreciate the car.
work in the morning and don't get off till 630 and because of daylight savings its dark at that time. So i cant wait for tomorrow. My day off.

Ill get some pics up too.

i just use a vaccuum line cap...i got it from an autoparts store...or you can pull the ball off the top...drill it a tad bit bigger...and glue it to the new end of the cut half

Not really. The ball on my V6s antenna came off (probably hit the garage door) and I didn't even notice it until I took the antenna off to repaint it. Still picked up all the stations I listened to just fine

the damn antenna was a bitch to cut. had to pound the wire cutters with a hammer.
have not checked the stations so i dont know how the reception was affected. but will have more input on that later
i like the new look though :thumsup:
