if your an auto go to VMP tunning and get a tuner.
or Do a real dual exhaust w/ Hpipe or Prochamber and flowmaster 40s dumped at the rear axle. |

if you want to stay NA spend $350 getting your heads ported and then spend $150 doing a valvetrain rebuild, $100 on pushrods, and $200 on a cam and you will be at 230 hp with your exhaust.
If you want to boost, spend $3500 on an m112 kit and you will be at 320hp before you know it.

LOL, just saying... $500 doesn't get much performance... I guess I'd say buy a used tuner and install gears?

Note: 500 will only net you a tuner and maybe the gears (tuners are wat 350-380? Gears are around 150. Intsalling those gears is gona range on average at least 400 I believe. |

There are other options for $500:
1. DIY used GT dual exhaust and take car to professional dyno tuner 2. Under-drive pulley and tuner 3. Get lucky and find a 3.55:1 8.8" rear end from a Mach 1 on CL 4. Get in an accident and use the $500 deductible to buy a GT I started modding with a similar budget of about $500 and picked option #2. You'll probably find this is just the start too!

You can also get a Windstar kit from VAP Auto. Nets you 7 rwhp and 15 ft/lbs of torque I believe.

You guys are putting out un realistic numbers ...
To do a cam swap, you buy a cam and springs/retainers, then you gotta get supplies. If done cheap and work yourself 700ish for the whole cam project. Then you honestly need a tune, which requires you have a tuner. Gears are only make sense to buy if you get a tlok as well, in that cause your also oging to need a bearing kit if your smart, the new oil and additive, and labor. The cost adds up more then you think when you start modding. I will say again, with your limit of 500 Either just start saving money till you can do a bigger project and give yourself time to research or do 1 of two things that either one will spend most of the 500. Buy a tuner from VMP (sorry and no offense, but seems to be A Lot of tuning problems from bama on these V6s) or Have exhaust shop fab you up something, once again, fowmaster 40s and either Hpipe or prochamber. (prochambers are a bit expensive so idk about doing that under 500) Honestly on a single port V6, might as well save your money, exhaust for the enjoyment of sound is what I really would reccomend ... not gonna get far with out a blower or turbo on a single port ... |
