Upgrading My 4R70W Tranny Q's?

So I got a 98 v6 auto with the 4r70w tranny in it and its got 120XXX miles. I want to give it more kick with the shifting cause it sucks and I'm not sure if the following products will help or if they're even worth the $. Aside from changing the fluid and filter i was looking it a shift kit ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/perfor...-kit-9604.html ) and this valve body ( Performance Automatic Mustang Street/Strip Valve Body (96-04 V6, 96-02 GTAuto) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! ). Would these be what I'm looking for? And if so would both be needed? Also is a transmission cooler really needed with my tranny or be greatly benficial?

honestly i wouldnt bother and just upgrade to a 2000+ 4r70w. They are a lot stronger and better designed than the 99-older 4r70w's.

I'm kinda on a budget as I don't plan on keeping the pony much longer then a year or so. I was going to do a tremec t-5 swap but its more than I'm willing to spend on this pony and I want to buy a shelby gt500 or boss 302 in a couple years. So for now I'm just looking to keep the auto running strong.

Already got the SCT X3/SF3 Tuner with a 93R tune, just asking if anyone knows anything about the products ^^^, if they'll help prolong the life of my tranny, and if they're worth the money.

I'd highly recommend a transmission cooler. As far as the two links above, if you're buying the valvebody, it will already have the seperator plate and gaskets that are sold in the shift kit. You'll lack the springs that come with the shift kit, but you can purchase the springs that you choose to run through Ford.

This would be worth a read, especially Chapters 13 & 14:

I would skip the parts listed above and do the J-Mod.

How do you have your SCT set-up for the transmission? Mine was a night and day difference between the two...

dont halfass your trans save money and build/get one built. And any reputable tranny shop/performance shop will tell you certain shift kits can really f shit up if not installed 110%
