6ER – Were you looking at the HP2 mufflers or the Pro-Series?

HP2 (comes in 18” and also 12” shorty’s)

Here's the Pro-Series

Also another question I know people around here say slp loudmouth Is with any mid pipe on a v6 sound bad but on a gt they sound good...so my question is and I'm using a gt as a comparison...if slp and pypes violator are striaght threw design then how come on a gt with the same mid pipe they produce a different sound/mtone....I was wondering how an h pype with pypes violator would sound on a v6

its due to the firing order on a GT...v6 is even...aka 1-2-3
GT is odd...so its like 1-4-2-3 or some shit like that

and I think SLP's sound like shit on a GT personally

I understand that a gt is odd firing and the v6 is even firing further more the gt is a v8 and a 6 is a 6 lol I'm not debating tht my question is if you take a gt with the same mid pipe (h) and then have one with the pypes violator catback and one with a slp loudmouth I and you listen to them....both mufflers are straight through but yet they sound different...one just sounds straight piped and the other just sounds mean agressive (violator) again both straight through so how would it sound on a v6 still like crap sence its a v6 (pypes violator h pipe on a v6)

Well for whatever reason a V6 jsut doesn't have the deep tone a V8 does period. Someone explain that one.

You know I had a thought. You could "adjust" some exhaust firing order by cutting a pair of Long tubes, and custom welding the individual exhaust tubes to come together in a different order? So instead of 123 / 456 you could mix it for a 125 / 346 and just so what happens lol

A v6 NEEDS a chambered muffler because of the exhaust gasses. The firing order is everything. Any straight through muffler is going to sound like shit. And the mufflers will have a different sound on every vehicle, due to firing order, gas pressures, cats, mid pipes. Even flowmaster 40s sound different on a V6 between h, x, pro, and divorced.

Exhaust tone starts at the engine, the exhaust port size and shape, the valve size, the cam duration, the header diameter and length, style of collector, cats/ no cats, mid pipe; not ever X pipe is the same, nor H, or any for that matter, the angle and shapes and diameters matter; the pipe used, the bends used, the temperature of the pipe (heat = pressure), the muffler; shape, length, material, internal design, inlet/outlet, the tip size in length and diameter, and direction it faces. How the pressure waves flow throught out the tubes, how fast also.

All of that matters. Change 1 factor and the outcome will change. Maybe not noticeable to our ear if its a small change, or it might be. You just never know.

Look up some videos on youtubes of a v6 with violators ?
different sounds from different mufflers is due to the way they're designed...most straight through mufflers have some kind of resonating baffle things in them.

and mike, that is how subaru's get their distinct sound...they have unequal length headers
