Exhaust

I was thinking about getting a exhaust before I head out for college. I found a pretty good price for a set of long tubes and an offroad xpipe. Should I run true dual strait pipes back from there? I dont have to go through inspection every year because I live in maryland . if I get mufflers what should they be?

All the combinations are personal preference. Use YouTube. Their not perfect, but you can get an idea with it.

pacesetter or mac LTs, H pipe, flow 40's (or knockoffs), done. Thats a common setup that has the lease amount of rasp and a good tone. or 6er will till you to go with headers, prochamber, done.

Ive found pacesetter lt's with a xpipe for around $200. How much will flow 40's run me?

I dont mind the xpipe, but dad is a Hpipe guy lol

I like x pipes, but don't do x and chambered. That's a common formula for ultimate rasp.

No, but a straight through muffler, like stingers, corsa, magnapacks etc. A straight through muffler is not a straight pipe. There different.

Definately get the Lt's and ics-nay the xpipe and go for the H-pipe supposedly the x-pipe is really "raspy" then get what ever cat back you want, Me personally I'm thinking of going with the SLP loudmouth.

good advice if he had a v8....bad advice since he has an even fireing v6 that sounds naturally raspy

@op...honestly if you just want a decent exhaust to hold you over just get a true dual chambered muffler setup...it's easy and cost effective. If you want to play around with mid pipes i reccoemend either an h-pipe or prochamber...not a fan of an x-pipe on our cars...

pretty much stock my ass -_-

LTs to O/R is a different world with sounds

Definately look up some vids and see what you like.
O/R X pipe doesnt sound bad, see if you can find Mr.RedPony's vids for that.
Tons of O/R H pipes and Divorced set ups to listen to
6er then I 8er has a stock video of I believe a cat back Prochamber w/o mufflers
I have tons of videos of Cammed Prochamber LT 40s

If you want to spend the money on a Prochamber, it will yield one of the best tones for a V6, really clears out the rasp effect compared to the others
Other then that, go for an H pipe is what Ill tell you.

But do realize, not everyones camera is that great, and your sound system maybe as usfull as some kid making car noises with his mouth ...
I have my lap top hooked up to a stereo system in my room, and it makes my exhuast videos sound almost exactly like they do in person, but w/ just the laptop speakers its horrid ...

Keep all this in mind

If I opted for the prochamber would I still need the 40's or would it sound good without them? Im not worried about how loud it is
