help!!?
Hey so I'm new here and I'm the girl that knows absolutely nothing about my car. I've always wanted a Mustang so the first thing I did when I joined the military was buy one!
Got a good deal, 2005 V6 with 19,700 miles for $14k. I was satisfied. Anyway, I could use some help...where do I even begin looking for stuff to add on to my car?? It's black, so I tinted the windows and blacked out the lights. I'm in the process of finding some black/chrome rims as well. The interior is cloth and I guess it's a grey color. But it's boring. I put a DVD player in place of the stock CD player and I found a carbon fiber dash kit. What else can I do to make her look sexy??? What would I have to do to lower it? And can I get a hood scoop on a V6 or is that dumb? Also, what can I do about my interior? I hate how plain it is. Any advice or help would be awesome! If you want, you can even fill me in on the cool stuff...like the engine and what I need to know more about, rather than just the way it looks. Thanks guys!

Welcome to Modded Mustangs!!
One thing i want to jump on is where you asked "can i get a hood scoop on a v6 or is that dumb" Its only Dumb if you think its dumb, if its cool to you, then its cool, your car is your car, dont let anyone tell you these rims are stupid, or fake carbon fiber is for ricers, its all about what you want. a great respected place to buy from is Mustang Parts & Performance - American Muscle but unfortunately the people that can really tell you what you want to know is here 2005 - 2010 V6 Forum I hate to turn away a girl from our section though....they would just be better to ask since they have your same model and all. |

To lower it you can go the low budget route of just cutting springs (I'm sure there's plenty of tutorials or 6er can help), or you can order an aftermarket set from places like Latemodel Restoration, American Muscle, or Mustangs Unlimited.
Not sure what you'd want to change in the interior, but then again the S197 interior is leaps and bounds above the new edge one I'm used to. Personally I'm not a fan of most carbon fiber pieces, as they're hardly functional, but if you want the look, go for it. Engine/drivetrain wise the traditional tri-fecta of first mods are gears, tuner, and CAI, which you may even be able to get as a package from AM.

If your bored maybe paint some trim? Thats what i did, well it was faded from black to grey..just repainted black, same with somethings outside, back to inside you could delete your rear seats, (unless you have anyone that rides back there?)

I couldn't find the video I wanted where they did it on Powerblock for a hood. Truth be told 95% of CF parts out there are junk, and really don't give additional strength or save weight anyway, they're just for show.

nope, no one ever rides back there. i guess cause no one ever really fits back there comfortably. kinda why i really like mustangs...not a lot of room for other people to mess up my car. selfish? oh well haha so what exactly do you mean by "delete" them? what would replace them? i like the all blacked out look with an accent color here and there. which brings me to my next question and you probably wont take me seriously buttt i want PINK caliper covers haha all i can find is red...is that the only color there is? know anywhere i can find some? i mean i like red but uh yeah...pink and black would be tight. sorry for all the questions! i just want my car to look good but i need to learn how to do that first. so if i say/ask something stupid just go with it
i'll put some pics up of it once i get off work.

Welcome to MM, gratz on living the dream, and what branch?
how is having a hood scoop on a sixxer dumb? >.> I have one, it adds a charm.... of "move or get hit" to the car. hell, my mod list for looks out wieghs my mod list for perfomance, but I'm keeping my perfomance list minimal because I plan on a 5.4L swap down the road after I pay it off.

Thanks! Air Force...yup, I'm a badass. wait it gets better...I forecast the weather haha well I dont think the hood scoop is dumb, i personally want it on mine. I've just heard people say that...i get a lot of shit for not buying the v8. but i'm young and its my first mustang sooo one day when i get that shelby nobody will ask questions haha but my list for looks is definitely a lot longer than performance right now. i dont have much left to pay on it so i'm thinking it's time to start making it look a lot better.
