Buy what experience? did you uncle have his 240sx dyno'd with a K&N cold air intake, and then take that off allow the proper cooling and re dyno the car with an ebay intake system?

If not please tell me what "experience" you have with it....

So now one cotton filter gives more hp than another? Go look at the filters in autozone, they aren't foam, that's what comes on the cai's from ebay, just like my mac has a cotton filter

its a weird foam material.. not true 100% foam. But its a foam material. I know this because I have a uncle who sold air filters for years. Yeah, sounds like a dead end job, but he enjoyed it very well. I learned a lot about it from him. K&N is proven to be better. Its just a known fact. yeah, some will disagree, but the tests dont lie.

Show me said "test" material...

Test better be an apples to apples comparison also. Flowtested, dyno'd , however it just better be apples to apples.

Because ignorance sucks?

We were originally talking about a K&N filter vs an Ebay filter....

I'm guessing the K&N filter is magically going to bring in 5 or 7 more hp over another filter on the same intake? Guess I need to get my BBK decals on my car also, I might gain 12-15 more horsepower their.....

heres a script from the article....whats it say they are made of???

Also bear in mind the K&N is cotton gauze, the Racing Beat is a single stage foam type filter, the Jackson Racing and Amsoil are dual stage foam, and the Napa is a paper filter. So cotton gauze does flow more air than foam as claimed. Amsoil is the best foam filter for flow. The foam filters are a real pain in the rump to service (this just my opinion and not fact). For that reason, I will never ever own a foam filter myself. I've owned several K&Ns and they are easier to service. If you are buying a high performance filter for airflow, K&N is tops in this test.

Yea i would agree k/n's better but in comparison to any random ebay foam filter you could buy, the difference is so small you'd never notice it. Even that being the case i have a k/n filter and i'll continue to use k/n.
