starter help please???

so, starter went bad and need to replace. however, the top bolt seems to be nearly impossible to get a good bite on.....any suggestions on how to get to this bolt to remove the starter? little thing to add in there though....this is a 5.0 we are talking about.....no one on the 5.0 section of the forums will reply back so i was wondering if anyone here would know. any input is greatly appreciated! thanks!

i got a 69 with a 5.0 in it....and i had to replace my starter also...if i remember correctly i had to remove the passenger side header and then just take a 1/2 in wrench and take the bolt out...but it is a little tricky to get to tho

Not sure the exact problem.

Usually starter bolts can be accessed with a socket on a long extension.

From the above it sounds like the manifold is in the way, but I would think a socket on an extension might work. Or a socket with a universal on it maybe. Hope that helps.
