Failures with cut springs are always from owner/mechanic error. When cutting the springs you have to use a cold cutting method so that you don't remove the temper from them by heating them up too much or you should go very slowly with a cut off wheel and periodically use a cutting fluid to keep the spring cool. The only reason the springs would fail is if the person who cut them was impatient and got them too hot when they cut them.

The only thing that isnt ran in a drag car as far as suspension components is a front sway bar. Most rear sway bars are replaced with either an ARB or Air bag in right rear. so as far as basically everything being taken off is false
