I noticed it when I had a v6 it got bad gas mileage. that when I went to my current vehicle stock I got 20 in the city and 25-28 highway well the 28 was going to Texas.but usually 25-27
Now with the mods I get 16-17 highway 18-19 on a good day And 14-15 city Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app

mines a bone stock v6... i don't (usually) beat the shit out of it. I removed the air silencer (not that i actually thought it'd do anything) and got new plugs ~ 7k miles ago. Could it be my driver side exhaust manifold is leaking because of a bad gasket that i'm getting such crappy mileage?

Did you check vacuum lines? These can definitely cause a drop in some fuel economy.

yes a leaking exhaust manifold will defiintely cause it. Get that fixed ASAP. Fumes leaking out of the manifold before getting to the O2s will make the car think your A/F is off and it will dump more fuel...

I don't know about your area, but here in Phoenix there at about 5 or 6 DIY garages where you can rent lift and tool (including air) for $20 or less an hour. Look around in your area.

come to my house. we will get that shit off in a couple of minutes. getting the new one back in on the other hand, will take FUCKING HOURS! but since i already know how to do it, we can have it back in in about 20 mins.

Passenger side is easy... of course I no longer have an EGR...
All you need is a 14mm ratcheting wrench, a 14mm ratchet/socket, and a 12" extension.
