So what gives vol.2? $30 to fill tank up. 10 fuel gallon tank?

So I have a 2001 v6. If i have a dang near empty gas tank and fill her up at fuel cost around $3.10 or so, it will only cost me roughly $30 to fill her. I have done this a few times.

I thought my car was suppose to have a 15 gallon tank.. Based off what is costing me to fill my tank up that would mean I have around a 10 gallon fuel tank..

My needle does show FULL after I put the fuel into it

But when I took a roadtrip I could had thought that the way the fuel was going, that I had to have a 15 gallon tank based off me refueling at certain miles.

If i can remember now, at around 260 miles into my trip or so I would have a 1/4 tank left.

So I dont know what is going on. Werid

You have a 15.5 gal tank. From full(allowing pump to auto shut off) till the light comes on for me is about 12.5 gallons. You do realize you have a reserve amount right?

your gas gauge is off. i can get 100 miles and still have a full tank but after that i drive like 2 miles and i have like 3/4's then i drive 20 miles and i have a 1/2 tank. then i drive home and i have 3/4 again. just fill up after u get too 200-250miles

same with my car.. my fuel gague is wayy off.. just as it passes below half tank, my car will start to sputter, and eventully stall.. Meaning NO GASS.. but i will drive for a couple days and the gauge wont move, then it will rapidly decend.. my last tanki lasted me a little over a week. and I love powershifting, and showing my car off.. so i dont do alot of highways driving.. mostly city

I've gotten it before. If I keep the foot off I can hit 320 by the time the light comes on. Just doesn't happen very often.

I have a dump off.. yea i know ... dumb, cuz i lose reall wheel torque, but i was at a light the other day and a guy pulled up and we made clear eye contact, it it was about a 1/4 mile straight away, two lanes.. so i started reving with my stock exhuast and the guy chukledd, so i switched the dumb, and his reaction was priceless.... I love powershifting, and am really good at it.. ripped the guy to shredds.. it was some shitty honda with an exhaust, and probs cai....

Gas tank 15.3gal. You must be filling up way before empty (gas gauge off).

properly running v6 should get 250-300ish mixed driving , basically 16 gallon tank, gas light with 2ish gallons left

Well it might be a good thing. See I drove around after my low fuel light came on until my needle was almost buried and I never ran out of gas.

So maybe I have more gas in my car then what the gauge shows??

And I do drive like a grandma. when i drive I barley pres on the pedal, usually that is all it takes to get her moving

When I fill up my needle is on E low fuel light on, but as I said before after like 10-11 gallons it will not take much more gas. Me being like WTF I keep putting fuel in and it spilled everywhere
