Suspension Upgrades

Ok I'm looking for mods that will have a noticeable gain in cornering.

Here is my current setup.

Steeda competition springs
bilstein shocks/struts
MM CC plates
steeda bumper steer kit
x2 ball joints
Steering rack bushings

My next upgrade is going to be a front sway bar:
Steeda Tubular Front Sway Bar (94-04 Mustang) 555-1094 - Free Shipping!

Ill probably get the sway bar link bushings as well. Can anyone else think of anything that will compliment my setup?

If i get sub frame connectors will the car be closer to the ground then it already is?

i wouldn't waste my money on a new front sway bar just yet...i see you don't have a rear sway bar on your list...if you don't have one get one ...i love mine

Like 6ER said, I would invest in a rear sway bar before getting a better front bar. The V6s don't have one stock, so even a take-off from a GT will be a great upgrade.

I would also look to get a set of lower control arms. They made a huge improvement when it comes to powering out of a turn. No slosh and if my tires spin it isn't squirrelly anymore, just hook up and go.

As far as the SFCs, I am hoping someone comments on this. I have been wanting them since they are the #1 best suspension improvement, but I already scrap my exhaust with a 2" drop, Most advertise to not be any lower than the exhaust is.

Swaybars should generally be installed in pairs, if you just install the front bar your car will understeer more and might wind up with more noticeable body roll since you'll be transferring more weight to the outside front tire in turns.

If your happy with your cars current oversteer/understeer balance then I'd recommend getting a front and rear swaybar set to maintain that same balance while reducing body roll.

it won't be...the ones i've seen hang as low at the lip that runs the length of the side skirt..and generally that lip hangs as low as the exhaust

Our Steeda frame rails are 1.5" high x 2" wide. So if you measure from your frame rail under the car down 1.5" thats going to be how much lower they are. For the most part, most exhausts hang lower.

Also, you will be SHOCKED at the difference a set of full length frame rail connectors makes on your car.

Good to know, ill probably get both the front/rear sway bar's. And also glad to hear the frame connectors don't make the car lower to the ground then it already is. Didn't want to get stuck on a driveway and have to use my car as a teeter totter haha

For control arms... Do they have front control arms or are they just rear? seems like that would help a good amount.

They have Rear upper and Lower. I don't know of any aftermarket fronts unless you swap to a tubular crossmember.

Been looking at these too. My balljoints were shot and I replaced the with the Steeda X2s and felt a great improvement.

Is there a noticeable difference? I don't know if mine are gone, but I am trying to get rid of the slosh in my front end now that the rear is so tight.

IMO I would doing other suspension before upgrading to a front sway bar. I would look into a panhard bar or watts link for lateral control of the axle. Sway bars are a tuning aid for eliminating under or oversteer conditions.
Just my 2 cents. A heavier front away bar will increase understeer.
