Got a new car a couple months back and been reading these forums a bit to learn what I can. Decided to actually post up now. Got it with only 30k miles on it, and its run great so far. Pic will be in next post. |

Thanks guys, I've been at school since I got it so I havent had a chance to really do anything to it besides throw in a new head unit and fix the window motors. But I'm about to be on winter break so hopefully I can get started. The plan is to start with the basic visual stuff, tints and then some new wheels. After that most likely doing the exhaust. After that it depends on how much money I have free'd up.

if I may give suggestion to help you out sence you sound like a guy who has a brain in his skull (past members where really stupid)
But anyway like I said nice looking car, and that these cars are not exactly you go fast car (get a 32v for that lol) but can be very very very reliable and clean/sharp/sexy looking Give you some ideas *what you do is up to you were just here to help* And to. Modded mustangs by the way lolsome visual mod ideas: Chin spoiler Smoked head and tail lights Hoood scoop New wheels (I personally think black salens or chrome looks good) *ur car* Lower the car *don't do a low rider like an el camino but enough to look good* Rear spoiler delete As far for ""preformance mods"" Cheap...CHEAP cai (cold air intake) amerincanmuscle(dot) com sells a simple but evective cai for 74.99 you won't see any gains. In the hp/tq department...but you sill notice if anything a slight improvement in throttle response and sence its a better quality filter over stock you car will breathe a little better Other option is and it cost a lot more money is get a windstar upper intake frm vap auto. That one is actually adds hp/tq...been dyno tested to add 7hp/15 tq I believe Now for exhaust: I may be jumping the gun on this but I believe 90% of us on here run flowmaster exhaust in one form or another. You can either get a cat back and have a shop fab the cat back to the stock exhaust which consist of the y pipe after the cats getting cut off and then the cat back....goes on but you have three choices of a mid pipe H X Divorced duals meaning no cross over. The most popular is H or divorced duals, both widley accepted as good exhaust The h pipe will give you a lower rumble tone (for a v6...remeber you don't drive a gt here nor will you ge it to sound like one) but its still good exhuast for a v6 and this will also let your car breahe out a little better too Divorced duals is where the piping unlike a H pipe after the cats does not cross over..its just one pipe on one side going into one flow master and another pipe on the other side going into another flowmaster Now yo can either A) buy a cat back/mid pipe and then have the shope match it up to your cats B) have the shope fa the whole exhuast The general sensus is have the shope fab the hole thing its a little cheaper. Just be smart shope around and ask question...make sure if they make the exhuast they mendrel bend there tubes..welcome to the site and sorry for my spelling and such...I'm on my driond and the keys tend to mash together after awhile

Thanks everyone for the welcomes and advice. I actually already threw on a shorty antenna. And yea I love the color too. I had already wanted the black on blue theme and had seen 6ers first stang up here before and loved it. The plan's pretty much what you guys have suggested so far.
One question about the exhaust though, if your going to put a GT rear bumper on at some point, would you have to do it before/at the same time as the exhaust in order for the pipes to look right. Seems like they would be too low if you did the exhaust and then the bumper. As for the wheels, I know if you increase the total diameter you need to retune the speedometer. Since I don't have a tuner now, how close does the diameter have to be to the original in order for it to not be too far off. Thanks a bunch. |

you can do the exhaust either way. All you have to do if you switch the bumper later would be to have the hangers cut and redone. Not a big deal.
You can go to 17s and be fine. It will be off a little but not much. Before I calibrated it was off ~5 mph at 70... and the speedo read high.
