Need help with deck
Okay I know I need to go into the audio portion. Okay well I'm about to put a new deck into my car but wen I baught my deck they said that my car might have a stock amp. They said that if it did it would cost me about $85.00 to do it. But if not it would cost $40.00 to install it. So my question is since I have 2004 v6 mustang and it's a 40th Ann. Does my car have the stock amp or not

There was a base audio option, a premium audio option with an amp mounted below the radio, and the mach audio option with amps.
The factory amp is shit for the premium audio cars (most stock amps are) and you'll want to bypass it, I did and there was a big improvement in sound quality. No one makes an amp bypass harness for our cars that works for premium audio so if your anal like me and don't want to cut the factory harness then you can make your own bypass harness. There are two amp bypass kits that give you the connectors you need and then you can just solder them together to make your bypass harness. Luckily I have been dealing with Ford Probes for a long time, recognized the connectors, and had a spare Probe bypass harness to cut up for this project. LMR: LRS-14409B, and a 1989-1992 Ford Probe Amp Bypass Harness give you the right connectors. I should mention that I'm not sure if this works on all 99-04 Mustangs I think the connectors changed at least once through that year range, but it does work on my '99. No problem, I was just glad I found a solution. The kit that LMR sells shows the right bypass harness in the photo but what you get is way different so I was pretty disappointed when I got in the mail after 2 weeks of waiting. I was just lucky that I recognized the connector and had a Probe bypass harnesses laying around to cut up.
