2001 Mustang Oil leak help!!!

so a couple of day ago i started seeing big oil leaks in my drive way so i went under my car and found what looks like a hole near the oil pan. i changed out my valve cover gaskets and i have no leaks on the oil pan. i think the is something missing because there is motor oil dripping out...I'm hoping someone could shine some light on this thanks

The hole is in the transmission bell housing and is used to access the drain plug in the torque convertor. There should be a rubber plug in that hole. If motor oil is leaking out it is likely coming from the crankshaft rear seal. If it's only a small amount of oil it is likely
normal.

can you get a picture? I am like Stephen, I think it's probably the rear main seal. It's a $2 seal, but costs about $500 for a dealer to replace because of dropping the transmission.

mine has a grommet there, but yea, it leaks too. both my main seals leak right now. I am doing the front when I do the cam (it's part of the timing gasket kit) and the rear I will do down the road, it's no where near as bad as the front.

Mine only leaks about 1/2 a quart in between changes. Nothing crazy but I still want to fix it while everything is apart.
