Thats what im wanting to do but im having alot of trouble finding a good 99 and up Gt rear end for a decent price, i can however find a 98 and below gt rear but there are a couple of differences. how long does it usually take to swap out a rear end and what would be a good price to get someone to help me for??

ohh and i found this out as well which kinda had me worried as well
"99-04 lower control arms! THAT IS IMPORTANT! 96-98 control arms are the same on the side that bolts to the axle but the side that bolts to the car is smaller. You need a 14mm not a 12mm. If you put 96-98 Lower control arms in it, it will have to much play and be catostphic!
All upper control arms are interchange 79-04 so anyones will work"

just depends on the manufacturer. If they have a 96-98 and 99-04 option, get the ones for your car.

If they list 79-04, you are fine with them.

If in doubt, swap out the bushings for some from a 99-04. You can get them through Prothane.

And IIRC, the Explorer uses leaf springs, not shocks in the back...
