Cut springs and pictures

This past week I lowered my 2000 Mustang Convertible, V6 of course. Before doing so howerver I did alot of research to see how comfortable the ride would be, and to see if it was safe/easy to do. Since I was cutting my springs I also thought it would be a good time to get new shocks and struts.(Mine were worn badly)

Let me just say that this was not very difficult as I got it done with a little help from my dad in approximatly 10 hours.(about a half a day)
I cant say you wont run into a little difficulty somewhere but we had no trouble whatsoever... Thank god!

Little info on what i did to cut my springs as well as pictures:
Step 1: Jack car up and take wheels off
Step 2: Take shocks and struts off(What i did as i was putting new ones on..)
Step 3: Use compression tool(found at local AutoZone to rent) to de-compress springs.. Then remove.
Step 4: Cut desired length off of spring.. I cut 1 coil off front and rear. Some people cut 1.25 off front, but i didnt.(also left Isos in)
step 5: Put back together...
Step 6: Stare alot and go for a drive..

Pictures:

-Cutting spring

-1 coil

-Front without strut or spring in *Dirty i know..

-Cleaned and painted

-All done

End results:

-Handles better
-Looks 10X better!
-So far.. safe.
-Easy to do

Hope this helped someone out!!

Looks good man your car looks nice. I think the next thing you should do is swap your gas door for a stock one or a black one. The silver just looks out of place to me. Just my opinion though!

Looks good man! Do you have wheel spacers in the back? Or is that just that type of wheel?

Hmm yea you might be right, red with carbon doesnt really look good. It looks subtle on mine since my car is black. Unfortunately new cowls are like 200 bucks...pricey as hell.

Edit: found a black fiber glass one that would look good on ur ride

Tips.. hmm.. I took my car to a parking lot(level ground) and measured fender to the ground.. came to find out, my back passenger side sat up higher than the back driver side so i cut off a little bit more off that spring.. but thats just me.. that away you make sure its the same all around. And when i say a little i really do mean a little. But it helped all the same. Other than that, make sure you be careful with the spring compression tool.. it slipped off the spring and about hit me.

Another tip would be make sure you dont cut off to much.. you can always cut off to little, but if you cut to much your screwed.

If you run into any problems or have some more questions feel free to message me. But you should be fine.

alright man sweet thanks. Reps for the help. I'm not gona lower mine by much I'm thinking 3/4 in the front and probably only half a coil in the rear (because my tires are flush with the rear fenders going to low I'm gona risk some serious rubbing). I just want like 1 inch drop in the back and 1.25 in the front

How hard was it to install your springs? I have super sport springs and c/c plates to install this spring and figured me and my dad could just do it in the garage.
