Alright, my insurance is pretty high the way it is, but its supposed to come down soon, before i make the swap anyway. But why would it be cheaper to insure a v8?

When I insured my 6er they asked if i was putting a snow plow on it. lol Never heard of anyone doing that mod.

There's a variety of reasons but I think one of the biggest reasons is that a lot of high school kids get V6s and end up wrecking them. Lots of wrecked V6s means insurance companies see them as a higher risk. Whereas V8s are more commonly bought by more experienced drivers (those who can pay for their own vehicles or can afford more expensive vehicles) and generally crash them less than high school kids.

if I get a gt with 3.73s in the rear but I also get the ecu out of it, will i need to recalibrate my speedometer, or does the ecu regulate that? I'm not sure how that works I guess. I have the 98, so I assume I would still need the tool, but like i said not 100% sure how it works

NO TOOL, tuner only.

And you'll only know when it drives if the ecu has already been tuned.
