Exhaust Design and Build Update! (with videos)

This is my exhaust design thread where I will be posting videos and updating you all as to how I've designed and fabricated my exhaust.
My designs are mostly based off of David Vizard's work.

First I took a video of the car running only stock manifolds which sounded pretty damn good but was extremely loud inside and outside the car.

Then I installed a set of Pacesetter longtube headers which I then connected a 24" secondary to (numbers based on at target rpm of 3000 using my design equations.)

I just finished designing, fabricating, and installing my first prototype of a Pressure Wave Termination Box. The basic idea of the design is easy to come to but size constraints can make it considerably more difficult to make tweaks to enable it to fit in smaller spaces. Given that our cars are naturally low to the ground, it was a major PITA to get something of proper size in such limited space so this will be 1 of multiple prototypes. I can design them for any vehicle, but getting it to fit in smaller spaces will make it significantly more difficult
While it's a prototype it was slightly rushed since it's getting cold outside.
This exhuast in the next video is the same as the previous except I added the pressure wave temrination box (yes it's completely cattless)

My current mods to this engine are CIA, Winstar swap, SF3 SCT tuner.

The prochamber is like a tiny version of a pressure wave termination box, making it essentially worthless with respect to what a properly designed termination box does.
Essentially the termination box is a substantial increase in cross sectional area cause the exhaust gasses to see it as open atmosphere. basically where ever the termination box is place it makes the exhaust think it's an open pipe at that point. The length of the secondary effects the target rpm range, which is based off of tuning pressure waves and boosts the engines ability to scavenge the exhaust gasses from the cylinder. Also anything placed after the termination box assuming it flows enough, will not have any affect on the performance of the exhaust, essentially making it invisible to the system.
The box is designed to give you a lossless exhaust system (less than or equal to 1%).

Hope the video quality of this camera is a bit better as it's all I could get a hold of on such short notice, and it's freezing outside now.

much better. also, are you going to build these to sell after you finish them up?

I know its ur prototype so you prolly don't wanna give too much away, butI'm curious to know what it looks like. Anything like this?

I'm sure that was created using very similar concepts I the same ones as I'm using. I read through David Vizard's work and simply put what he said into equation in an excel chart so It's more organized and I can get the numbers for a box on any engine desired. Just need engine specs like compression ratio, etc...

I actually don't mind giving any information away, since the more ppl try it the better we can understand the topic.by prototype, I simply meant that I will be making more so I can get a better fitment on the car, not that I am trying to keep anything from anyone.
I might sell them but my welding skills aren't the best as I'm just learning but whenever I am happier with my welding I will certainly help the community out any way I can

Well man I sure do hope so, I'd love to get my hands one of these do keep us posted

Also just a quick question, the prototype ur designing is basically a midpipe similar to the pro chamber correct?

I'm interested in what it looks like as well. Also, it seems like the theory is more performance based than it is about the sound. Supposed to make the engine as efficient as it would be without headers at all, right? Did you get onto a dyno yet?

Being that it's the first prototype I kept it as simple as possible to get an idea of exactly how limited I was going to be under the car. So it basically looks like your standard chambered muffler with dual unlets and outlets. It does however have dowels welded inside connecting the flatter sides to reduce reverberations in hopes to prevent any eccess problems with droning. When I get access to my laptop again I'll get some numbers on here regarding my specs. My current box is larger than necessary for my car b/c I made it in mind of my future 4.2L going in. As I didn't want to have to make another more of these for my car than necessary since a larger box would be harder to fit and could end up causing me to have to make an entirely different shaped box.

The box is supposed to make the car run as if it's running on open headers, since ideally the headers would be designed per application.

I don't have pics of the current box or atleast not ones I'm willing to show b/c the welds look awful and it's too damn cold for me to go get any pics worth posting anyways. But as my welding improves I'll definitely post some pictures of further designs.

Also I haven't gotten on a dyno, b/c there are none in the area (or at least not any reputable ones that I know of)
