Some auto tranny questions
Ok my tranny is fine and fluid level should be fine, but I haven't checked it in awhile. I'm wondering if I was to check it and the fluid level was say down a bit, is this normal on a 95? Do these older mustangs lose alittle or burn alittle off over time or would it absolutely gaurantee a leak? Again, I have no verified it yet so I'm assuming it's full and there is nothing wrong with the level. I'm just saying IF. And if it is down a little, what type of ATF should I add in?

As per the guys here I'm prolly not gonna change it unless it looks like complete shit in color, cause changing the fluids on these older trannies can actually induce problems. So if the levels are down, gonna add a bit. I'm hoping they aren't down though. And thanks

lol don't worry about inducing problems....when you change the tranny filter it comes with a new gasket anyway so you won't have any issues after filling...
remember replacing the filter is only a service change...not a full flush and fill. |

Yeah I meant doing a full tranny fluid change and filter change can actually cause more problems if the fluid isn't burnt. So maybe it would be wise to change the filter but I'll check on that after I check the levels.

yeah...a filter usually runs around $15 and comes with the new gasket....then just ask them to pull up what the service change requires qrts wise (i don't remember)....you're car would benefit from this change out
