2000 Vert V6 stereo install help!

Ok guys. I'm new to the forums because I have seen many other people get help and was hoping I could do the same. I have been trying to figure this problem out for a very long time and have gone through every forums SEARCH bar with no definite answer.

I have a 2000 V6 Vert that I'm trying to install an aftermarket deck in. When I pulled the stereo there was a long grey connector, 2 short squareish black connectors (one is a 6-pin, the other an 8), the orange ant. cable and the ground. After I pulled the cd player below I noticed what looks like a factory amp behind the cig lighter and under the CD player.

So is that really a factory amp? I don't have the Mach system. If that's the case what's the best METRA kit to get. I have the METRA kit that has the 2 long rectangular connecotrs, but I think that's the wrong one. Thanks in advance for any help!

didn't know what I was looking for. Googled and that was all that came up. Guy never responded back if he had connected the blue wires together.

Your car has the premium audio option which includes a factory amp. The factory amp is terrible for the premium audio cars (most stock amps are) and you'll want to bypass it, I did and there was a big improvement in sound quality. No one makes an amp bypass harness for our cars that works for the premium audio option so if your anal like me and don't want to cut the factory harness and splice the wires together then you can make your own bypass harness. There are two amp bypass kits that give you the connectors you need and then you can just solder them together to make your bypass harness.

LMR: LRS-14409B, and a 1989-1992 Ford Probe Amp Bypass Harness will give you the right connectors.

I'm not sure if it was an option all years since the radio changed for the 01-04 cars, but in '99 and '00 there was a premium audio option that was not the mach system.
