98 Mustang Transmission Nightmare!

Hi..
Was cruising my V-6 5 speed mustang down the highway..suddenly it popped out of gear and refused to shift...anyway had clutch and flywheel replaced and put a 2002 5 speed transmission in. Took it for a test drive .. shifted great..however speedometer was on 120 when going 30 and if I exceeded 2500 rpms..car started jerking and cutting out. The vss are different..02 has no gear..while 98 has gear..Could this be my problem? Car wont go over 30 mph..

are 99+ 5 speeds mechinical odo/speedo ?

nope. they are electric. you need to convert it or get a 99-04 gauge cluster.
