Upgrades For My '00 Mustang V6 3.8L Deluxe

This Friday im buying a used '00 Mustang V6 3.8L...
Im looking to make significant changes ASAP...
My spending limit is VERY slim as Im not looking to put so much money in right now!
But I'm looking for better gas mileage, exterior look, and sound initially making the car All-Black (a.k.a Dark Knight)...

What are some ideas that's inexpensive because of my spending limit (i.e. CAI, mufflers, rims/wheels, etc)

Welcome to MM and Mustangs. First off Id like to tell you a couple of quotes:
"Cheap, Reliable, Fast; Pick 2."
"Gotta Pay to Play"
Dont forget those.

Secondly, Please view

3rd:
The two highleted parts do not go with one another.

4th:
Dont spend shit on your car please.
Save your money for a while and make a plan. Figure out a budget and what your goals are for the future of this car. This will keep you from spending to much money on shit you dont need to buy.

5th:

You live in Cali, mods are a bit complicated there to stay legal ...

6:
Please reserach the hell out of anything you consider. 99.9% of the time the info is already out there.

7:
If anything, the first thing you need to do with a new car before you spend a damn dime on it on mods is to make sure the SOB isn't going to just fall apart on you.
Fluids, filters, plugs, etc etc. Buy a service manual and go through the routine shit like this and make sure you car is running good.

Once you do ALL of this, then come back to this post and start asking questions, dont make a bunch of new threads about mods since you already have a "mod" thread. Thanks

Honestly dont know why anyone has told you what mods to get w/o telling you what I jsut said.

Got yu! Also as in asap, im going to start building this up but i dont wanna get everything so fast if u kno wht i mean... Only mods im really concerned about is better gas mileage and sound... Performance is always important, but im not so concerned about speed and power, but overall look and growl if u get me!! But i will do all the technical aspects right when i get it as far as fluids and all tht stuff... As far as the picture, you have to right-click on the ugly looking box and press open in new link... Should work then!

It didn't

And do some research. Their is an exhaust sound thread, full of options for you.
Cali is hard on emissions. So your probably stuck with a cat back, H pipe to a pair of 40s is most common. See if you like though.
Remember video quality and speaker quality play a huge role.
Look into a hand held tuner as well.

well iknow mike pretty much said it but sence you want a all black look which btw can look really sharp but at the same time slightly ricey so becarefull but lol

for a cheap set up to make you exhuast better over stock(sound)
do what reaper said thrush welds (aka flowmaster orginal 40s) and mabey do a h pipe or divorced duals. you wont get alot off power but it weill deff be a good diff in tone for the exhuast. and on the up side it will help your car breathe better going out along with a cheap CAI from americanmuscle(dot)com again not any power gained but it will help your car breathe better going in lol

as for looks id go for smoked head lights (NOT darkened trust me) and smoked tail lights

some nice wheels
for that black look
bullets
saleen wheels
fr500s
cobra R wheels

chin spoiler is a great appearence mod
mabey a hood scoop too its all up for you

iknow once my cam is done im adding to my already installed chin spoiler and doing smoked head and tail lights and my car is black too so ..yeah lol

oh and if you want dig into the rear end with a ford tlok and 3.73 gears or 4.10s

you wont gain power but will aid in off the line acceleration

good luck were here to help the choice is ultimetly yours

if you want better mileage start with new k&n filter assuming yours is stock filter and intake use drop in

new plugs and wires

replace fuel filter

check tire pressure

change oil

thats a good start.
