Transmission Coolers

Plan on Using a bar plate style cooler like B&M sales.

Ill be getting a 9.5'' 3200 stall in friday maybe, I definately am going to want a cooler. Trying to decide on what size and how to mount. And wether or not I should go with a fan set up or not.

Been searching and searching, trying to find mounting info and stuff, other then in from of the radiator .. id like to see some pics of how it was mounted adn what not ... not see to much info to my surprise...

Thanks guys.

Get a "679" style stacked plate Hayden design..

You can get them at Auto Zone for around $60 IIRC.

One of the best on the market.

I haven't decided yet.

And Im not much of one to trust Autozone due to personal experience with them...
Just a thing I have. Sounds like many others are the same.

Looks like that one is a good one, but idk the brand neither. Will have to research reviews

exactly. Advance Auto has the B&M one in stock, and buying online and using the coupon code you can get 20% off. I also need to order my valve stems, and ordering them together I qualify for free shipping and then I get $30 off...

The one I posted is far superior to that B&M that was posted in the link.

Not even comparable.

There are only a handful of companies who make transmission coolers, so I would not pay much attention to the name, assuming you want a $50 - $100 cooler.

Do a google search for "Hayden 679 Cooler"

The one I posted is that one.

BMR_Tech is basically saying that a few companies make them, then rebadge them to make different pricing grades based on name.

It's like Libby's green beans. They are made and canned by the same place that makes Green Giant. Did you know that. Same green beans, different label, $1 difference in price because Green Giant has advertising and a mascot.

I agree. Hayden makes top notch trans coolers for the money. Also mike you will want a stacked cooler or your better off staying with the stock.

I have the same converter and run stock cooler located in the radiator. I run a 160* stat with a bottle of wetter water and it keeps everything cool. 9.5" stall is more efficent and will stay cooler anyways.

So you would suggest using this as well ?

Now ive read some things about the cooler and maybe its just aftermarket coolers, but is there a seperate stat for the stock tranny cooler, or are you just talking about the engine stat being 160 ?

Ive heard of that wetter water, lube kinda that creates smaller and better air bubbles as temp increases.

Yes, I would recomend the hayden. I had one similar that was going to go on my car but sold it because the stock cooler was doing the job.

160* engine stat.
