Keep MSD wires or move to regular?


I currently have MSD 8.5 spark plug wires installed. They have been on the car for about 60k miles. Would I be better off leaving them or going with new regular wires from the parts store?

I do not have an upgraded coil pack.

I'd say stick with the stock motorcraft cables and sparkplugs as they do fine. If you're not using the car to race. Avoid bosch and other cheap cables, I learned my lesson the hardway.

Was going to go with the Duralast Plug Wires... I guess it would be better to replace them since its been 60k miles.

+1 for Motorcraft. I always stick with that unless its a true upgraded part (i.e. go fast parts or things MC doesn't make).

As in the device all the plugs connect to? I replaced that about 20k miles ago, so its still fairly new.

No, from the parts store. Duralast/Ignition Coil (C1312) | 2003 Ford Mustang 6 Cylinders 4 3.8L SFI | AutoZone.com

I don't think that is whats causing my issue. The car is running fine now. The main concerns now are the oil in the combustion chambers and the lower intake leaking a shit ton of oil on one side.

My PVC Valve groumet came to peices today also... gonna go ahead and replace the whole thing.

should stick with motorcraft and imo replaces wires when you do plugs if you do them at 60k, and yeah these engines do that
