sensor is just the black cap on the top. Were talking about everything under it. The moving parts.

Yeah if it's squealing the synchro is shot, there's a type of bearing in it, when they go, they go.
If it were just the sensor it'd prolly throw a CEL, good piece of info. though cause you'd save $40.

Looks like a friend of mine and I are going to a junk yard saturday to look for one. Correct me if I'm worng but anything with a Ford 3.8 from 99-04 will fit the 3.9 right? Also I was told at the local Oriellys that a Windstars part would work too. Aparently they have the same part numbers as the mustangs but the mustangs are $50 more or so brand new. |

I think $55 brand new for the whole synchro at Advance.

Where are you guys finding these for $55. I have called oriellys and napa and they are all $150+ for a motorcraft one. I'm about to just buy one from oriellys and be done with it unless I can find one that's cheap and it's been getting a little worse so how much would it cost to have a dealer do it if I had the part already or if I didn't?
