Get out your Hayne's Manual!


I'm taking my heads to be inspected and cleaned after work. The inspector wants my spec sheet for the valve guides, and I couldn't find my Hayne's manual this morning to save my life. No idea where it is.

Can anyone retrieve this info? I did the wiggle method and they seemed fine, just want to double check before I get everything done and then find out otherwise.

why spend 6 hours cleaning when I can toss them in the vat and be done in 10 minutes?

I have no history of these heads, the engine came used and the valves were pretty carbonized. Just want it checked to make sure I'm not gonna be ripping it off in a few weeks and replacing the valve guides.

If you want some decent heads I have some stockers w/ a valve cover broke off ... RTV just for safe measure and it never had an oil leak in that corner ?

Just get the surface checked for warps. Doubt they have any issues though

nothing wrong with these just want them checked. work is doing it for free so I'm taking advantage of it.

Just want things done right the first time so i'm not redoing it 3 times like some people here... :-P

Ehh thats what I get for listening to "experts" instead of just listening to a manual. But then again, my first issue was a rocker arm bolt came loose ... I followed the steps but it happen. So I added to the instruction, use of lock tight lol

Gotta learn what works and what doesn't.
