More starter Problems

Hey everyone, I've been having problems with my car starting lately. I figured it was the starter or the battery so I took the battery to napa today and had it tested and bought a replacement. Before with the old battery the starter solenoid would click and the car would almost turn over. Now with the new battery the I hear a single click then nothing from the engine. Any Ideas what this could be? The only thing i can think of is that the terminals are pretty corroded, but how could there be this big a difference from the old battery to the new if that is the only problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might have an open in the starting circuit. Could be a fuse or the park/ neutral safety switch. And it is quite possible you got a bad battery.

If it was a bad battery would all of the interior lights and everything still work?

Ok this is a dumb question but have you cleaned the corrosion off the terminals? I developed some kind of black film on mine last fall and had the exact same problem. Once I cleaned it off I was good to go. Oddly it shows back up about every 3 months now. I just clean them when I change the oil now. I have no clue what the hell it is from.

I did a little, but the only thing that gets me about that is that the old battery would work with the corroded terminals just fine. Idk, I'm going to try that this afternoon then go from there
