Will a 94-98 8.8 work in a 99-04?


Will it work? I know that it is a bit shorter, just wondering if i could buy/make some wheel spacers.

it will work fine. it will be a tab bit narrower but it will work. Everything bolts right up, the control arms, shocks, brakes and rotors will go right on.

you will need spacers and to drill some holes larger as the LCA bolts are a few milimters smaller in diamter on the sn95

It should be fine, like everyone said the older axles are a narrower. 7.5's and 8.8's (28 spline) use the same axleshafts, if you wanted to do a little extra work you could swap the newer shafts into the narrow axle instead of using wheel spacers. Just a thought.

Mainly where i live, only ones i can find are 94-98 or if i do come to find a 99-04 people think there made outta gold.

you could run a wider tire without rubbing on things

mainly dis advantages for the guy just looking to replace the 7.5

cost me the cost of the spacers more than if i had a 99-04 rear end which really pissed me off beause i pulled my rear from a 2002 gt so someone must have swapped it
