you will need a tuner or speedcal with the gears

both because you need a tuner once you install the gears or it will throw off your speedometer

The speedcal is IN the tuner. So technically he doesnt need "both".

i'l say if u cant afford tuner and gears get tuner first the best is Sniper or SCT i like sniper cause u can make ur own custom tunes and is very user friendly if u read the manual and u can have 2 cars use it.. with sct u only have the options they give u or u need to wait for new tunes so u decide.... but still both r great what i explained is the only difference

I data log and write my own tunes with my Xcal :wink

I just bought the xcal with all the options from my private tuner and not some big company is all.

sniper is more personal... so your tunnin your own car

SCT is big name ... so more confident tunes

the only thing is... can the sn-95 body style be re-calibrated? or do you have to do the lil speedo gear in them?
