Sputter when coming to a stop

Hey Guys, I recently noticed my car sputtering when i come to a stop... it doesn't do this all the time but it will do it a lot more often if I have my heater on. RPMs drop a decent amount but not enough to cause the car to stall. Anyone know what might be causing this? I'm getting my battery and alternator checked out right after work.

Clean IAC valve and MAF Sensor. See if that helps.

Is there a specific cleaner i should buy? I'm stopping at advanced auto on my way back from work and will pick some up.

Also I have a good feeling its the battery since a couple months ago i had to replace the alternator.

nah battery wouldn't cause that. Once you start the car, the battery has no effect on the engine. You can disconnect the battery and drive around forever.

If you belt is slipping you could have those symptoms though.

Idk about that, you cars battery does a lot more than just start the engine.

Not for the engine. All engine controls are run off the alternator. Your stereo, gauges, etc. won't work if you pull the battery connection, but the engine will not die. Fuel injectors, spark, etc. is all run by the alternator once the car starts.

Got it fixed, it was carbon build up in the throttle body. Thanks for the pointers guys. Car feels a lot cleaner/healthier at start up and when its running.

f i was taught correctly the battery keeps all that excess voltage from the alternator from reaching other electronics so it actually does have a purpose after the car has been started.

my car recently did this too. it sputtered for a good 3 months or so and i never thought anything of it until one day it wouldnt start anymore. turns out it was my fuel pump. i tryed cleaning all the sensors that everyone suggested, my advice would be clean all the sensors and if it persists check your fuel pressure
