Car trouble
Hello, i'm new to this site. Anyway my 02 v6 mustang won't start because of some sort of electrical problem. I've been letting it sit and it's been pretty darn cold. I tried to start it up the other day and it had absolutely NO power. So I got a jumpstart from a friend and I got basic power for my car dashboard lights, etc. But when I try to start it, all it does it keep turning over. Not starting. Any ideas?

When it turns over does it try to start? Does it turn over like it would try to start, it just won't? Or does it try to start really slow then stop?
First ordeal is you need to get the car where it will try to start, just not start. After that, you need to eliminate Suck, Bang, and Blow - the three components of Combustion: Suck: Are you getting fuel? What is your fuel pressure like? Can you purge the system and get fuel coming out? Is the inertia switch popped in the trunk? Bank: Are you getting spark? Is the coil pack plugged in? Are the connections tight? Blow: Are you getting air into the combustion chamber (is the throttle body opening?)

It tries to start for a split second, then it just keeps turning over, and then that's the only sound it makes.

but it is rotating at full speed?
You need to check to make sure you have fuel and spark. Report back.

^Agree, may also just be a simple dead battery and/or a bad alternator if it just turns over without starting. get a jump take it to your local autozone/orreily's/advanced auto to check your battery and alternator.

Reaper if it was alternator it would start and then die soon after. If it was battery it wouldn't even rotate...

I checked and it's getting fuel and its sparking. I tried it again today and it sounded much closer to starting. It was a little bit warmer today. Like I said it's been pretty cold around here. like ranging from 10 to maybe 30 so it's pretty darn cold. Could that cause my problem?

still shouldn't make a huge difference. If the battery was really old it could cause it to discharge, but if it is cranking fine that isn't the issue.
How long has it been since the car started fine on it's own?

It hasn't been used too much since I'm at college. Last time I used it I needed a quick jump start and that was before Christmas. It started no problems, but that was because I left something on.

hmm if you drained the battery then there is a possibility there could be a dead cell and it's right to that point.
May just run it up to the parts store and have them check the battery. Just to rule it out.
