Misfiring 04

Well today on my way back to work i was driving on some back road the nall the sudden when i went to put the gas down... it felt as though the car was halting or something was holding it back and then releasing it. Got home had my dad ride with me to figure out what was happening.. It got 10 times worse within 5 minutes of driving.. Literately it was like the car was trying to cut out whenever i hit 2k+ RPM's.. Got home car was throwing a Check Engine Light. Got a P0301 Code, which is led to the Cylinder 1 Misfire. I cant find a Absolute solution on what it could be that would fix it. Let me know if any one has had this happen. The car is a 2004 3.9l with 74k miles.

Check the Spark Plug, Its really easy to get to.

Check the Plug
Check the Wire,
Make sure your Coil Pack is firing.

Etc.

+1

Coil pack failure is common on these. Mine went out around 50k miles.

Check in that order and go from there.

It was the Coil Pack! Was this the reason ive been getting really bad MPG lately? due to the one coil not firing all the way,
