suspension question


i have a 98 v6 and plan on puting a 5.0 in it. i also plan on puting the 8.8 rear end out of a gt in it, i need new springs now but wont have this done for a wile and want to know if i buy the eibach pro kit for a gt if it will work on my car so i can use the springs on my car when i have the new moter and rear end in it.

Phyisically it will fit, but you won't have the rebound rates a GT would use cause it's heavier.

If I were you I would get v6 springs, cause you are rebounding the chassis, not the motor.

And the springs sit on top of the rear end, the rear end has no effect on the spring rate.

but wont the weight of the car be the same at a gt once i get the new drivetrain in? so wouldent i want the gt springs and shocks?

if you have a v6 "Deluxe" (heh, I like that word) with the big sound system (or if you just have subs and an aftermarket setup) and leather interior, you could benefit possibly.

Just don't want you getting upset when you put GT springs on and it only lowers your car .5"

If I remember correctly a GT is around 150lbs heavier then the 6.

yea there are a lot of little differences, and the motor is only about 30 lbs. of that.

With the GT springs it's going to ride higher in the front. If you push your car in the corners, the extra springrate is going to make the car understeer worse.

No, it would exacerbate it. You'd make the car overall better balanced weight-wise, but that would just make the discrepancy in spring rates between front and rear that much more pronounced.

i have a gt eibach pro kit on my car and it lowered it about an inch. perfect drop imo.

I was always under the impression that if you're doing a GT Motor swap, you should get a GT suspension
