u missed a factor, wind friction there is a point where the OD gear can not give the torque needed to over come wind resistance.
this makes sense. Going over the limiter in any car is dumb IMO until you have modified it enough to be SAFE for you and the car. Just because you get a tune and change your tires doesnt give you the key to drive stupid fast on a public road. Most peeps dont understand the first thing abount handleing a car at 120+. Road surface and conditions, wind, humidity, visibility, balance in the car... and on and on and on. Theres just to many factors that can have a huge affect on your abiltiy to control a Ford Mustang at higher speeds than they designed it. The dudes at Ford are smart... they set that limiter at 117 for a reason with the equipment that left the factory.

I know I drive at 100 mph on a regular basis in the country where I am. After that, the ass end in these cars kicks like a bronco with any kind of cross wind or pavement inconsistency.

Its dumb and theres always a 16 year old jackass that ends up flipping a Mustang and is dead. It makes the rest of us look bad. I dont care what anyone says, just because you find a way to take the limiter off doesnt make the car "magically" able to go at speeds higher than the engineers allow. Shit, 117 is probably too much already.

Mods, mods and more mods are needed. Not to mention experience and training from someone that knows what they are doing.

Personal experience....

My cousin died in his stock 01 v6 stang at a crash above 120 mph...

our stock brakes r not good for high speed braking

and plz ppl your car has a limit for something. When u pass the factory limit ur car is no longer safe. Dying in a crash hurts ever1 in ur family...
