with the limiter taken off whats the max speed on a 99-04 v6?

their will be two things that limit it now... wait three...

Tire rating
Gearing
and how much gas you wanna waste tryin to get it up their...

the only way to find the first and last are out on your tire... and in your wallet

the third... someone will come up with a number from some magical ratio majigger

not really... it was a warning of don't go faster then your tires will let you cuz if you blow them out at 150... your fucked...

im not a random post whoring kid... if i was i would have almost as many as torres now... what i say has some meaning behind it... or is for a cause

i heard 144mph but who knows...i know my 4th gear get to 115 with some RPMs left....and 5th is yet to be touched

a stock car i believe will push it...that of course will take a while as opposed to a FI setup or nitrous

i know my mustang tops out at 116 with rev limiter but have no idea what it could do with out it. but hey i really dont know how to take the speed limter off so if anyone can tell me a cheap way send me a meassage on how

rev limiter limits Revs not speed buddy

232 love the avatar. but your tires will last you around 30 mins at 135 mph. and the rear of the mustang tends to become a reverse aerofoil. and it floats around. but it would have to be around 150 160ish but it would take an hour to get there.

I got to 120...then pegged the speedo and was still pulling but I ran outta room...I would guess I touched 140 ish

ive gone past 120 and the needle went back to the very bottom of the gauge. dont know the speed, but wouldnt advise it for stock suspension, stock brakes mustang.

u missed a factor, wind friction there is a point where the OD gear can not give the torque needed to over come wind resistance.

rev limiter limits Revs not speed buddy

on the contrary 02, your half right. the sole purpose of the rev limiter is to stop the engine form exceeding its maximum rpm range but it also can limit speed for example, if you have a set of drag gears 5.0:1 your going to hit your red line well before you hit 120 MPH.
