checking codes with tuner???
so i have the SCT SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner from AM, but I'm wondering if the the code reader is only for the mustang, or could i hook it up to another car just to read a code? any advise is appreciated thanks

I dont see why It wouldnt work if its OBDII scanner?

It will only read codes for a ford I believe.

It will read codes from any OBD-II Ford vehicle. And I believe it will read codes from manufacturers that Ford owns such as Mercury. I think every manufacturer has their own set of codes and I'm pretty sure the tuners only read Ford codes (unless you buy a tuner specifically for a GM vehicle, then it will read GM codes, etc, etc).

yup. It will read anything from Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Land Rover From 97-Up.
Tell your friend to beware, if he plugs this scanner into his Hyundai it will transform in to a 1989 Ford Probe...
