i just recently finnishe dthe install of my cam..here are the specs...CompCams 218/226 .500/.500 108LSA. anyways just wondering what the best hand held tuner company would be..i need to get it tuned REALLY bad my gas mileage is horrible.

Find yourself a used unlocked Diablo Sport or a SCT SF3/X3 tuner. Both will work. Now rememember the handheld by itself isn't going to help you, all it is is a "carrying device" for your tunes. You need to take your car and get it dyno tuned

well a buddy of mine has a 2005 mustang gt with stage 2 comp cams, he told me to go with bama tuning because i can download the tune on the hand held tuner then reflash my computer.

SCT tends to be the one people go with the most, thats where Id put my money personally, but I have no experience w/ Diablo.

With that said, You would prefer a dyno tune, but I udnerstand if that needs to wait for money. Finding one used AND unlocked is like playing russian mullet w/ 5 bullets loaded instead of 1 ... Ive heard of so many tuner for sale that are said to be unlocked and aren't ... Id have to test it on my car before I bought it.

So with that said I would recommend buying a new one.
Now if you want a tune for a cam set up, Ill say that Bama cant/wont due it. To unreliable over email tunes. So VMP Tunning or Trick Tuners is where you'll want an email tune from. Both are reccomended for modded V6's.

They will get you by till you get the chance to hit the dyno and get a good tune specific for your car.

Their are other companies who will send you email tunes, your friend is right.
But Like I said in the above comment, Bama will not tune a cammed 3.8 V6. The platform is getting to old and to many variables for them to be comfortable with using email tunes. So a basic tune Bama can handle, but heavily modded tunes they wont due. Trust me, I had a run down with them on here wanting something to help me to drive to my dyno tuner 2 hours away, nothing permanent, just something to get me by.

if your not going to get a dyno tune buy from

trick tuners
or vmp tuning

i believe that both of those companies will do remote tuning

if you plan on getting a dyno tune just buy one from the shop doing the dyno

I have my Diablosport sell. Might sell it soon, not sure. Seems the coyote dream is getting pushed out, so will probably keep my car how it is for now and then dump it all off when I actually get ready to pull the trigger.

But TuningSuperStore.com said they would have no problem tuning the 3.8L Cammed if you decide to go that route. You need a Diablosport for them to tune.

I know Justin at VMP tunes for the M112, he could probably tune the cam too. He uses SCT.
