Key Replacement...??

I had to have a key remade. I got it from a Locksmith and not the Ford Dealer. The finds weren't available at the time.
Not having that factory programmed key, will that effect the running system of the car?? I had taken the car to the shop and the guy couldn't get the right code readings because I have the generic key.

Is it around $200.00 for a Factory key, because of the chip?

Anyone on here from South Florida? Looking for someone honest, reliable and not wanting to get their hands in your pockets for every little dime you have.

Appreciate it.

Thanks.

Key is 15 -25 and then it has to be in the dealer if you dont have 2 preprogrammed keys and that is anywhere between 50 and 100 to do.

If you take the car to the Ford dealer they can read the key codes from the car and make the keys. We had lost our last key so the car had to be towed and they made keys with no problem.
