Need help with location of oxygen sensors

Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 1

That was the code i pulled today. Not sure of the location of the sensors.

okay, so what i read was bank 1 is the side with cylinder 1, but there are normally 2 sensors on the side, I have the rear 02 sensors turned off..Imma run outside to look, brb.

edit:

Pardon the picture quality as it was taken with my evo, but the sensor thats in the pipe is the only one hooked up on that side, you can see in the upper left corner the purple connector that normally went to my rear o2 sensors which are turned off, so my culprit should be that sensor correct?

This is the passenger side.

sounds like the heaters are messed up... not sure where the heater control is...

Are the heaters not built into the o2 sensor?

edit: did some reading and i do they are heated.
Edit futher: read some more and there may now be a seperate heater...

Did you find the O2s? They are on the midpipe just before the cats. Accessible with the car on jackstands laying underneath the oil pan. You may need to drop the midpipe to get to the Passenger one. I've had to every time, it's too tight of a squeeze for me.

Heater circuit is built in and it's a seperate code. The heater circuit is the two grey wires, the actual HOS circuit is the black and white ones.

It sounds like either one bank is running very rich all the time (very unlikely) or your HOS is shot.

But before you plunk down the $50 for one, you can test them with a torch and DVM.

Oxygen Sensor Information

If it is bad I think I may have a spare Bosch one in my toolbox.

Thanks wicked and i appreciate the thought that you have one more but i just ordered one offline. 38.00 and its extended so i wont have to extend it myself like the last one. I will def let you know the outcome though.

on the fron of your cats.. there are two on each side, your looking for the fron two, replace both those, or the one in question, and leave the baclk ones alone, there just to make sure you hace cats, unless u have MIL elim.
