Water Temp/Oil Pressure Gauges.
FYI to those who dont know, the temp and oil pressure gauges are pretty much a "false" gauge. They do not have true readings. By this I mean for example, oil pump is run by the engine rpm, as rpm increase, the pump turns faster. Faster fluid pumping should increase the oil pressure on the gauge. Ours do not.
This explains this and is a "write up" on how to get gauges that actually work: Installation of Oil Pressure and Water Temperature Gauges Now Im wanting to do this at some point or another. So I have two questions to start with: 1: Can you some how make the stock gauges work properly? Id like to buy that dual cluster cover, but Id like to use the gauges for something else. AFR or something like that ... 2: On that note, can you only get that cluster cover in black ? I have then Parchment/Tan interior, Id like it to match lol |

1. Do you mean rewire the temp and oil to actually do their job properly or still have it a dummy light in addition to the aftermarket ones?
2. Only comes in black - get paint: http://www.autometer.com/cat_mountsd...=1&mdl=17&gw=7 _

Mike hit me up, I can get you deals on the cluster and gauges.
The Autometer only comes in black. Used to come in parchment, but they stopped and just to straight black. Get some paint and spray it. To elaborate, the oil pressure and water temp gauges are a dummy because in reality the two gauges would constatly fluctuate, and people used to come into the dealership thinking something was wrong. So when your water temp gauges is "perfect" it is actually anywhere between 170-210, which is normal operating temperature. From what I understand, the gauges on the dash are not what is "dummy" but actually the sending unit. Because I bought a generic Water Temp gauge for my old car and it did exactly what the stock one did.

Ohh Im aware they are dummy gauges.
I Am curious as to if you can rewire or whatever is needed to make them work properly instead of adding aftermarket ones. Hell its already there, why not make it work ya know ? |

I really dont want a pillar one, thats to many annoying, little lame looking IMO. Id just want the cluster bezel. And If I had an aftermarket stereo Id go for the 3 in the extra space down there lol
This would be awesome: Not paying 1k bucks for it though :p But anyways, my main Q is if you can make the stockers work funtionaly ? |

well if you dont mind spending some money you can buy all aftermaket gauges that actually work (i.e speedo, tach, oil press., water temp, volts, and fuel level) and have them built into a custom cluster.

Well If I go w/ nitrous, I want to end up w/ a AFR.
The two most usefull other gauges I Can think of would be Water temp and oil pressure. I dont see me getting and aftermarket head unit any time soon so the 3 pods there wouldn't be an option. And I really do not like the A pillar ones ... Idk though. But between the options I could: Get the A pillar w/ 3 and use: AFR, Water Temp, Oil Pressure. Cluster bezel w/: AFR, and "X" Get Cluster bezel and dual A pillar: AFR, Nitrous Pressure, Water, & Oil P. A few options I guess are: AFR, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Nitrous Pressure, Fuel Pressure, Tranny Oil Temp. Thuh fuhg w/ Volts and oil temp. No boost obviously :p |
